WISDOM FOR MY SON

This conversation between me and my son in the car few weeks ago, he was holding and playing my hat in the car and suddenly ask me...

Son : Daddy, what is the minimum education if I want to become a pilot like you?

Me : Well, the basic education for a CPL pilot has to be "A" level passed with 5 credits..., why are you asking?

Son : Hmmmm..., what about Prime Minister, do I have to study in university before I become a Prime Minister?

Me : Well..., yes..., if you were asking me in this generation, a Prime Minister need to be very knowledgeable and well educated, he must be good at history, science and mathematic, it would be easier to become a Prime Minister if he is a lawyer or doctor, because it is no easy task to run a country as a Prime Minister, why all of sudden you seems to be interested in pilot and Prime Minister profession?

Son : Then how much do a PM earn (I mean every month)?

Me : Hmmm..., I think below RM20,000.00 per month plus some entertainment allowance if I am not mistaken.

Son : Then how much is a pilot income..., I mean like yourself?

Me : Well..., for a a senior first officer (co-pilot) will get approximately RM8,000.00 to RM10,000.00 and for a captain will get approximately RM18,000.00 to RM20,000.00 with various package such as free air ticket every year, insurance policy, retirement fund and etc., but that is very much depends on which airline, some airlines pay as much as US$20,000.00 per month, that will be RM60,000.00 after conversion to Ringgit.

Son : Then..., hmmmm..., can a captain afford to buy a LAMBORGHINI if he is earning RM60,000.00 per month?

Me : Yes, of course he can, not only LAMBORGHINI, he can also have a PORCHE for spare car in the garage.

Son : Okay, daddy, I think I will go for pilot job once I'm out of high school, I don't want to become PM, I want to earn money to buy my LAMBORGHINI.

Me : Hahahaha..., oh my son, if you want to be a pilot just for the intention to earn money to buy LAMBORGHINI, then I want you to think again, I mean there are many other jobs pay well in this planet, why do you want to become a pilot, and please ask yourself do you have the PASSION and INTEREST to fly in the first place? If you don't and you want to be a pilot for the sake of earning much money to own a nice sports car, then I would suggest you to think carefully, whether or not you have the least interest in flying or minimal interest in aircraft, if your answer is none at all and just for money sake, then please do not waste your time, because you will eventually feel bored with the uncertain work schedule, lack of own personal time, have to sacrifice most weekends spending with buddies catching up some gossip about girls, drag yourself to sit the whole day in the cram cockpit, checking on the instrument panel during the whole entire journey, so many checklist to go thru and paper documents to be done.

Son : Hmmm..., I think I can sacrifice everything if I could possibly reward with a LAMBORGHINI plus a PORCHE for that, I know what I want now daddy.

Me : Whatever..., I am proud to know you are a matured kid and know what you want in life though, but always remember that I emphasize on "PASSION" and "INTEREST", if you do not like your job, you will then find yourself stuck in no where and your job will literally become a burden to you one day.

THE QUALITY OF POLITICIAN AND MEDIA IN "BOLEH LAND"

Read paper about those politician and media criticizing Chinese voter in Sarawak, says the Sarawak Chinese will have to bear the consequences for the recent election result, meaning BN lost many seats due to Chinese voters change of direction. Further to that UTUSAN MELAYU says the central government should not need to take care of the Chinese community from now since Chinese does not seems to need much care from the government. That causes me to think what "CARE" have this government given to the Chinese community in Sarawak? Solid CASH? Low property gain rate? Low personal income tax rate? Low bank loan interest rate? Big discount given to Chinese while buying property? Have you experienced any big investment that benefit all level of Chinese society? Did bakun project benefit every race and level in Sarawak? Did the Chief Minister of Sarawak fly you to holiday in his private jet?

Politician like Chua of MCA added that the "BURDEN" been carried by BN shall now release to the opposition party to take care of Sarawak Chinese interest, because they have choosed to support and believe in opposition. As for my personal opinion, these are what we call "IMMATURED POLITICIAN", sitting at the top holding its biggest power leading Chinese community in the central government, let me write you a simple speech by just saying "Ladies and Gentlemen, we now know our ruling government has failed to win your trust and support in the past, we have learned the lesson hard in the last 3/08 general election, but we have wasted too much time and much of our efforts devoted for fighting against each other within ourselves, however we shall remain fighting for power and keep day dreaming to win back Chinese votes by talking nonsense, you folks please be patience, get your pop corn ready for a good show about to come, the name of the show is call "SECOND WAVE OF TSUNAMI HIT THE SHORE OF PUTRAJAYA", free ticket is free on request".

Dato' Seri Chua, voters today are capable to capture facts and figure from the fast developing IT technology, they know well who is he boss and who is the bigger tax payer in this country, do you still believe in covering all the dust underneath your carpet works? To be honest, I have heard about your story from most friends in Southern part of Peninsular Malaysia, we cannot deny that you have done much for the Chinese in Southern Penisular Malaysia, they were years ago, sad to say but those efforts are now history, you have to work real hard before the real tsunami wipe-off everything you have built in the past, including yourself!

MOST K.L. TAXI DRIVER ARE NUTS, WHAT DO YOU THINK???

I had a light accident with a taxi at Jalan Ampang yesterday, during peak hour a taxi driver was driving recklessly and simply cut in from left lane without giving signal, I was driving a mid. size SUV, can imagine how desperate he was trying to squeeze in from left lane right in front of me at a heavy traffic jam road. Then it happened, I couldn't see his car, and the taxi front right door scratched my left bumper, the taxi driver stopped right there ignoring a massive traffic jam during such a peak hour and walked to my car, knocked on my window and asked me "ooi..., lu ada lesen pemandu kah, lu tahu macam mana bawa kereta kah...?" Feeling fed up with his childish act, I just replied him lazily : "Encik, saya punya lesen pemandu telah dapat 20 lebih tahun, bukan hanya lesen pemandu, saya juga ada lesen pemandu bas, dan sebenarnya saya adalah seorang pemandu trailer, apa kata kalau kita pergi selesai hal ini di balai polis...?" He rejected my suggestion but keep cursing, yelling and even screaming right next to my car. Then I suggested him to go ahead make a police report if he think by doing so can make him feel happy, I then wind up my window and drove off.

If not mistaken, I remember a minister ever openly commented about K.L. taxi driver "busuk macam tandas awam", and now I have to agree with him. What do you guys think?
